New 2024 Surron Light Bee S Specs and Price

Surron has rereleased the Light Bee S electric motorcycle for the US market. The Surron Light Bee X has attracted a huge cultlike following worldwide over the past couple of years. The slightly smaller, less powerful Light Bee S can be considered the little sibling to the X model and Surron decided to relaunch it in the US market aimed at smaller and less experienced riders.
For comparison, the Light Bee S uses 17-inches wheels front/rear versus 19-inch on the X model. The seat height is 31.5 inches on the S compared to 32.6 inches on the X. The S also has less horsepower and torque, which results in a lower top speed due to a less powerful battery and motor combination. All of this is aimed at making the bike more user-friendly for those new to riding.
Don’t let the “low” horsepower numbers fool you into thinking these bikes don’t have enough power to be fun. As with any electric motor, the torque is instant and they have far more torque than most Internal Combustion motors. The Light Bee S has 162-foot pounds of torque at the rear wheel.
Like most other electric motorcycles, the Light Bee S has no clutch so the front and rear brakes are controlled via the handlebar mounted levers. This is usually a lot easier to learn for entry level riders.
If you are comparing this to equivalent traditional gas-powered motorcycles, the Kawasaki KLX140 or KLX140L, Yamaha TTR125LE, Honda CRF125F or Honda CRF125F Big Wheel models. Those are in the $3700 to $3900 MSRP range and have similar overall size and seat heights. The Surron Light Bee S has an MSRP of $2799.
