Description
Talaria MX5 Upgrade Battery 72v 55Ah 9C is capable of peak 32kW power ( peak discharge for 51 seconds until cut off on mosfet temp protection).
16kW continuous at 250A discharge runs for 4 minutes and 16 second continuous load until cut off on mosfet temp protection.
Riding Range: 181.5 km (laboratory result measured at the average speed of 25 km/h)
Battery Pack: Grade A 220 * 21700 Cells (Samsung 50S, volts difference less than 0.01V after 10,000Ah cycles)
Battery Cell Lifespan: Minimum 70% of capacity after 3 years

Cells
There are 220 cells in this battery and all have internal resistance. The more resistance, the more heat they produce, until they start to damage. So with this low resistance, they are able to supply enormous amounts of power without over heating.

Exoskeleton /Casing
We have upgraded the casing to marine grade 316 stainless steel, so absolutely no rust issues here! Super tough and powder coated inside and out.
Connectors
The main Talaria MX5 battery to controller and battery to bike connectors isthe sames as thestandrd Talaria MX5 using a heavy duty 6 AWG cable. This allows higher power flow and less resistance than a standard cable.
Domestic Electrics
This means all your bike accessories are still powered. Some believe that not using the circuit breaker direct to the controller removes the safety of the circuit breaker. However, all our batteries have a full working BMS. Any power shorts or irregular current and the BMS shuts down.  This is much more sensitive and accurate than a mechanical breaker (you may note, for example that the Sur Ron Ultra Bee does not use a circuit breaker and relies on the BMS alone).

Fitting
Because of the extra battery height (373mm), an aftermarket battery compartment lid will need to be fitted for Talaria bikes. Some customers have opted for the more simple method of removing the original lid and using a ratchet strap to hold in place. Battery Charging
First time charging is VERY important. Always connect the charger to the battery with the charger powered up at the mains first. This will stop a “Connection Spark”.  Always charge your battery in a safe place and never unsupervised.
